Introduction
PeakPull ("we", "our", or "the app") is a mobile application designed for personal trainers to measure and track client strength using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) scales. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use PeakPull.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. Your password is never stored in plain text — it is hashed using the Scrypt algorithm before storage. You may also provide an optional phone number.
Profile Photo
You may optionally upload a profile photo. Photos are stored securely in our cloud storage (Convex file storage). You can change or remove your photo at any time.
Measurement Data
The app records measurement sessions including: exercise names, peak and average weight values, session duration, body part and side indicators, notes, and the client organization you create. This data is stored on our secure cloud servers.
Client Information
You may store client names and notes within the app. You are responsible for obtaining appropriate consent from your clients before storing their information.
Device Information
When you connect a BLE scale, we store the device name and identifier locally on your phone to enable automatic reconnection. This information is not sent to our servers.
Push Notification Tokens
If you enable push notifications, we store your device push token to deliver session reminders, weekly digests, and app updates. You can manage notification preferences in Settings.
Subscription Information
If you subscribe to PeakPull Pro, subscription management is handled by the respective app store (Apple App Store or Google Play) and RevenueCat. We store your subscription status but do not have access to your payment details.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the app's functionality
- Authenticate your account and keep it secure
- Store and sync your measurement data across sessions
- Send email verification codes for sensitive operations (password reset, account deletion)
- Deliver push notifications based on your preferences
- Enable offline data storage and sync when connectivity returns
- Manage your subscription status
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on Convex cloud infrastructure. Authentication tokens are stored in your device's secure storage (Keychain on iOS, Keystore on Android). Profile photos are stored in Convex file storage with signed URLs. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Offline data is stored locally using AsyncStorage and synced when connectivity is restored.
Third-Party Services
PeakPull uses the following third-party services:
- Convex: Cloud backend for data storage and real-time sync
- RevenueCat: Subscription and in-app purchase management
- Resend: Transactional email delivery (verification codes)
- Expo Push Notifications: Push notification delivery
- Sentry: Error monitoring and crash reporting (no personal data is intentionally sent; error context may include anonymized user IDs)
Bluetooth Permissions
The app requires Bluetooth permissions to communicate with BLE scales. Bluetooth is only used for receiving weight measurements from your paired scale. We do not use Bluetooth for location tracking or any purpose other than scale communication.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete individual exercises or clients at any time. You can delete your entire account from the Profile tab. Account deletion requires email verification for security. Upon deletion, all your data is permanently removed from our servers, including account information, measurement data, client records, profile photos, and preferences.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data through the app
- Export your data using the Export feature in Settings
- Correct your information (edit name, phone, photo in Profile)
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Manage push notification preferences
- Withdraw consent by deleting your account
Children's Privacy
PeakPull is intended for use by personal trainers and fitness professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
